Sliding glass door swap out. Things to watch out for.

Started a sliding glass door swap out with French doors. Things to watch out for when installing or swapping out sliding glass doors. When I removed the sliding glass door existing I made measurements everything was great until I ran into a little problem. You have to be careful that your measurements are precise because I had to adjust the king stud in order to get the swap out to fit. Luckily for me the header being extended out further inside the wall so I was able to take the stud cut it out and slide it back still staying underneath the header. Sometimes this doesn't always happen you run into the issue of your header beam being the exact size of your existing with no room to wiggle or move your stud out underneath the header beam luckily for me I got lucky and the header beam was quite longer than it was supposed to be so I was able to slide the wall open a little more and get the swap out to fit correctly. But like I was saying things to watch out for when buying your swap is that to make sure that your swap is slightly under your existing if you get something that's over your existing and you might run into the issue do you have to move the wall but won't be able to move the wall because the header beam is cut to the exact precise measurement of your existing slider. Not all houses the same and not all the time will you be as lucky as I was on this particular job there's been other jobs where I wasn't so lucky and you would have to change out the whole header and I can get costly.
